Delicious Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Pasta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of pasta
  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound of sausage, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons of Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the garlic, Cajun seasoning, paprika, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  4. Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving.
