Ingredients:
- 6 large eggs
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 cup cake flour
 - 1 tsp baking powder
 - 1/4 tsp salt
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 - 1/4 cup vegetable oil
 - 1/4 cup water
 
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
 - In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar on high speed for 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture is pale, thick, and tripled in volume.
 - Sift the cake flour, baking powder, and salt into the egg mixture. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined.
 - Stir in the vanilla extract, vegetable oil, and water until just combined.
 - Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
 
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and springs back when touched lightly in the center.
 - Remove the cake from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
 - Run a knife around the edges of the pan to loosen the cake, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
 - Once the cake is cool, slice and serve with fresh whipped cream and berries, if desired.
