Matzo ball soup is a traditional Jewish dish that is perfect for chilly days or when you need a comforting meal. This recipe is easy to follow and will result in a delicious and hearty soup that will satisfy your hunger and warm your soul.

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of matzo meal
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 8 cups of chicken broth
  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped

Start by making the matzo balls. In a bowl, beat the eggs with 1/4 cup of chicken broth and 1/4 cup of vegetable oil. Add the matzo meal, salt, and pepper, and mix until well combined. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

In a large pot, heat 8 cups of chicken broth until it comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the carrots, celery, onion, garlic, and parsley. Let the vegetables simmer for about 10 minutes.

While the vegetables are simmering, remove the matzo ball mixture from the refrigerator and shape it into small balls. Drop the matzo balls into the soup and let them cook for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and fluffy.

Your delicious matzo ball soup is now ready to serve. Ladle the soup into bowls and enjoy!
