Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and sugar. Mix well.
- Gradually add warm water and stir until the dough comes together.
- Add salt and melted butter. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a towel and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Punch the dough down and knead it for another 5 minutes. Form the dough into a loaf shape and place it into a greased loaf pan.
- Cover with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
Tips:
- Make sure the water is warm, but not too hot. Water that is too hot can kill the yeast and prevent the bread from rising.
- Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes to activate the gluten in the flour. This will help the bread to rise and create a fluffy texture.
- Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area to ensure it doubles in size. You can also place it in the oven with the light on to create a warm environment.
- Use a serrated bread knife to slice the bread for even slices.
