Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup warm water

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and sugar. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add warm water and stir until the dough comes together.
  3. Add salt and melted butter. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a towel and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  5. Punch the dough down and knead it for another 5 minutes. Form the dough into a loaf shape and place it into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
  8. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool before slicing.

Tips:

  • Make sure the water is warm, but not too hot. Water that is too hot can kill the yeast and prevent the bread from rising.
  • Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes to activate the gluten in the flour. This will help the bread to rise and create a fluffy texture.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area to ensure it doubles in size. You can also place it in the oven with the light on to create a warm environment.
  • Use a serrated bread knife to slice the bread for even slices.
