If you're a fan of Korean cuisine or looking to try something new, Bibimbap is a must-try dish. This delicious rice bowl is packed with sautéed vegetables, a fried egg, and your choice of protein. The dish is topped with gochujang sauce, a sweet and spicy chili paste that complements the other flavors perfectly.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of cooked rice
  • 1 cup of spinach, blanched and sautéed with garlic
  • 1 cup of carrots, julienned and sautéed with soy sauce and sugar
  • 1 cup of mushrooms, sautéed with sesame oil and soy sauce
  • 1 egg, fried
  • 4 ounces of sliced beef or tofu
  • Gochujang sauce to taste

As you gather your ingredients, start by cooking your rice according to the package instructions. While the rice is cooking, prepare your vegetables. Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 30 seconds, then sauté it with garlic in a pan. Julienne the carrots and sauté them with soy sauce and sugar until they are tender. Sauté the mushrooms with sesame oil and soy sauce until they are soft and flavorful.

Next, fry your egg to your preferred level of doneness. Slice your beef or tofu into thin strips and sauté them with a little bit of oil until they are cooked through.

Finally, assemble your Bibimbap bowl. Start with a bed of rice, then arrange your vegetables, beef or tofu, and egg on top. Drizzle the gochujang sauce over the top of everything, and enjoy!
