ideaparty

Indonesian Nasi Goreng is a delicious and savory fried rice dish that is a staple in Indonesian cuisine. It is typically made with leftover rice, shrimp, vegetables, and a variety of flavorful spices. This recipe takes it up a notch by adding a perfectly fried egg on top, making it a filling and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of cooked rice
  • 1/2 lb of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup of chopped carrots
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt to taste

Heat up the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, and cook until the onions are translucent.

Add the shrimp, frozen peas, and chopped carrots to the skillet and cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.

Add the cooked rice to the skillet and mix well with the vegetables and shrimp. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper to the skillet, and mix well to combine all the ingredients.

In a separate skillet or frying pan, fry the eggs to your desired level of doneness. We recommend sunny-side up or over-easy, so that the runny yolk can mix with the rice and add extra flavor.

Divide the nasi goreng into four bowls, and top each one with a fried egg. Add salt to taste, and enjoy your delicious Indonesian Nasi Goreng with Shrimp and Fried Eggs!
