Blueberry pie is a classic dessert that is loved by many. This recipe will guide you through the process of making a mouth-watering blueberry pie from scratch.
Ingredients:
- 2 pre-made pie crusts
- 6 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten
First, preheat your oven to 375°F. Next, in a large bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
Take one of the pie crusts and place it into a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the blueberry mixture into the crust, and dot the top with the pieces of butter.
Cover the pie with the second pie crust, and use a knife to cut several slits into the top crust. Brush the beaten egg over the top of the crust.
Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. Let the pie cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
