Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of water
  • 4 tea bags (black tea or green tea)
  • 1 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (or sweetener of your choice)
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Boil four cups of water in a saucepan and add four tea bags. Let it steep for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In another saucepan, add one cup of fresh blueberries, half a cup of sugar, and a cup of water. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the blueberries are soft and mushy.
  3. Strain the blueberry syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into the tea mixture. Discard the blueberry skins and seeds.
  4. Add sliced lemons to the mixture and let it cool to room temperature.
  5. Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a pitcher and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  6. To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the blueberry iced tea mixture over it. Garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon slices.

Tips:

  • For a stronger tea flavor, use black tea instead of green tea.
  • You can add honey or maple syrup instead of sugar for a healthier option.
  • Try adding other fruits like strawberries or raspberries for a different twist.
  • You can also make this into a cocktail by adding a shot of vodka or gin.
