  3. Place the potatoes on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop out the flesh, leaving about 1/4 inch of potato in the skin.
  6. Brush the inside of the potato skins with melted butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the top of each potato skin.
  8. Return the potato skins to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
The result is a plate full of crispy potato skins filled with delicious melted cheddar cheese and crispy bacon bits. Perfect as an appetizer or side dish for any occasion!

Tips:

  • You can customize the toppings to your liking. Try adding green onions, sour cream, or even jalapeños for a spicy twist.
  • Make sure to scoop out the flesh carefully so you don't tear the skins.
  • Leftover potato flesh can be saved for mashed potatoes or other recipes.
