Lo mein is a classic Chinese dish made with egg noodles, vegetables, and protein. It's quick and easy to make, and you can customize it to your liking with your favorite vegetables and protein.

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz. of egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup of sliced carrots
  • 1/2 cup of sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup of sliced onion
  • 1/2 cup of snow peas
  • 1/2 cup of sliced cabbage
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of green onions, sliced

Start by cooking the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the sliced mushrooms, carrots, bell peppers, onion, snow peas, and cabbage to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the vegetables and stir to combine. Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet and toss everything together until the noodles are coated in the sauce.
