Delicious Beef Gyros Recipe

The juicy and tender beef strips, combined with the flavorful tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread, will leave you craving for more!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1 cup sliced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup sliced red onions
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the sliced beef and mix well to coat.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  4. Preheat a skillet over high heat.
  5. Add the marinated beef and cook for 5-7 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  6. Heat the pita breads in the oven or on a skillet until warm.
  7. Assemble the gyros by adding the sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions onto the warm pita bread.
  8. Add the cooked beef on top of the vegetables.
  9. Drizzle tzatziki sauce over the beef.
  10. Fold the pita bread and serve hot.

Tips:

  • For a healthier version, you can use chicken instead of beef.
  • You can also add lettuce, feta cheese, or olives for extra flavor.
  • To make the tzatziki sauce, mix together 1 cup of Greek yogurt, 1 grated cucumber, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste.
