If you love the sweet and spicy combination of cinnamon and apples, this homemade cinnamon apple bread is the perfect treat for you. Made with fresh apples and pantry staples, this bread is easy to make and perfect for breakfast or a midday snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups chopped apples
To make this delicious cinnamon apple bread, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, until the batter is smooth. Fold in the chopped apples.
Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, slice and serve the bread on its own or with a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
