Ingredients:

  • 2 large onions, sliced into 1/2 inch rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour, salt, paprika, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
  2. Place buttermilk in another shallow dish.
  3. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Dredge onion rings in flour mixture, then dip in buttermilk, and coat in breadcrumbs.
  6. Deep fry onion rings in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  1. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, chives, parsley, dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
