Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy and smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Add in the chocolate chips and stir until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
For a richer chocolate flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate chips. Additionally, if you prefer chewy cookies, you can reduce the baking time to 8-10 minutes. Remember to let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This will prevent them from breaking apart.
