Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy and smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  5. Add in the chocolate chips and stir until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
  8. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips:

For a richer chocolate flavor, you can use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate chips. Additionally, if you prefer chewy cookies, you can reduce the baking time to 8-10 minutes. Remember to let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This will prevent them from breaking apart.
