Ingredients:
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Pita bread, for serving
Instructions:
- First, strain the Greek yogurt for about an hour in a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer to remove excess liquid.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the strained yogurt, chopped cucumber, minced garlic, chopped dill, and lemon juice.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors meld together.
- Serve chilled with warm pita bread.
Tips:
If you want to make your Tzatziki even creamier, you can use a food processor or blender to puree the ingredients together.
If you don't have fresh dill on hand, you can substitute with dried dill. Use about 1 teaspoon of dried dill instead of 1 tablespoon of fresh.
You can also add other herbs and spices to the Tzatziki, such as parsley, mint, or paprika, to give it a unique flavor.
