Ingredients:

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

Begin by combining the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until well combined.

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. Gradually add in the softened butter, kneading until it is fully incorporated into the dough.

Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Once the dough has risen, shape it into small brioche buns and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops of the buns with an egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the buns are cooked through.

Serve warm with a pat of butter and your favorite jam. These brioche buns are perfect for breakfast or as a midday snack. Enjoy!
