Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2-3 black tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp of ground cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp of ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 2-3 tbsp of honey or sweetener of your choice (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it begins to steam. Do not boil.
  2. Add the tea bags, cinnamon stick, star anise, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and nutmeg to the milk. Allow the mixture to simmer for 3-4 minutes, until the spices have infused into the milk.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the tea bags and spices.
  4. If desired, add honey or sweetener of your choice to the latte and stir well.
  5. Pour the Spiced Chai Tea Latte into mugs and enjoy hot.
